A Collector’s Guide to Old Cottage Toys
the dolls of Margaret & Susi Fleischmann |
|
|
The Dolls of Margaret and Susi Fleischmann
chronicles the background of the Fleischmann family
who came to
live in Rustington , Sussex , England.
from their homeland of
Czechoslovakia in 1939
shortly before the outbreak of the 2nd World War. Not long after their arrival in the U.K., Margaret
Fleischmann became a widow. She decided to make dolls for a
living, and so began the doll making business named
‘Old Cottage
Toys’. |
|
This title traces the development of the dolls
from the early cloth examples, to the successful range of small,
beautifully dressed costume doll's with moulded heads, which are
now eagerly sought by collectors.
The book includes identification of each Old Cottage Doll by
description and colour photograph, a rarity guide, plus suggested
methods of storage and repair, plus much more. |
